There are few estate Oakville Reds of this caliber at this price point. Collina Dalla Valle is grown on Dalla Valle’s estate hillside vineyard and made to be enjoyed upon release thanks to the great winemaking expertise of Andy Erickson. The Dalla Valle team considers this the more approachable, baby version of 'Maya', their Estate Red which they've become famous for in the collector's wine world. This newest offering is a compelling testament to what Dalla Valle’s hillside blocks are capable of producing. Blended mainly from the fruit of the estate’s young vines, Collina, which means “hill” in Italian, is intended to be enjoyed upon release—although, like all Dalla Valle wines, it will continue to evolve for a decade or longer. "Fresh red raspberry, nutmeg, vanilla bean and toasty oak aromas are immediately notable. On the palate, these same characters follow through, delivered on a precise, finely woven lattice of tannin and natural acidity. While the intensity of the fruit drives the impression of the wine, the highly integrated French oak flavors add to the length of the wine.
