Zeitgeist ‘Oakville Station’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
It would be hard to find a more prized location for growing Cabernet in the valley than Oakville Station—bordered on three sides by To Kalon Vineyard and touched on the fourth by Martha’s Vineyard. Cabernet has been planted on this site for over a century. Oakville Station, UC Davis’s long-standing research vineyard, is among the most studied in the country. Its mix of heritage Cabernet vines and experimental plantings produces wines of notable depth and consistency. With access limited to a select few, its fruit is both rare and highly coveted. Mark and Jen age their wine for 20 months in 80% new French oak. Aromas of baking spice lead into notes of boysenberry compote and a hint of violet. The wine is both polished and powerful.

Zeitgeist Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Hailing from a combination of impressive grower vineyard sites, including Lewelling Ranch in St. Helena, Farella in Coombsville, Yountville’s Sleeping Lady, and Oakville Station, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest rated in its price category for the vintage. There is impressive restraint on this wine, incorporating only 50% new oak and allowing the natural power of the sites to shine through. Notes of cedar and plum lead to a rich and velvety palate with cardamom and vanilla bean. At just 234 cases, there isn’t much to go around.

Zeitgeist Napa Valley Chenin Blanc 2023
From some of the last remaining Chenin Blanc vines in Napa Valley—planted in the 1980s and now part of fewer than 25 acres still in production—this marks Mark and Jen’s tenth bottling from a small, old-vine vineyard in St. Helena. They used only native yeasts for fermentation and aged the wine on lees for 20 months in used French oak, with just one new Stockinger barrel, keeping new oak to only 12%. The 2023 Zeitgeist Chenin Blanc is vibrant and layered, with notes of fresh apricot, citrus, and wet stone, a refined, textural mid-palate, and a crisp finish.

About Zeigeist:
Zeitgeist was founded by Jennifer Williams and Mark Porembski, a husband-and-wife duo who also craft acclaimed wines for several other top wineries. Jen helped usher in a new chapter at Spottswoode from 2004 to 2010, first as vineyard manager and later as winemaker. She also contributed her expertise at Pahlmeyer and currently leads winemaking at Arrow&Branch and Kelly Fleming Wines. Mark, a Napa Valley veteran with more than two decades of experience, began his career at Far Niente, Araujo, and El Molino before taking the helm at Anomaly. Together, they work with a select group of top vineyard sites and, with two precise palates guiding the process, bottle only the best barrels.
