Founded by entrepreneur Patrice Breton, who learned winemaking alongside Paul Hobbs, Vice Versa produced its first vintage in 2002. Today, Patrice oversees the winery and has incorporated the powerhouse winemaking skills of Phillippe Melka, Maayan Koschitzky (Head of Winemaking for Atelier Melka, formerly of Dalla Valle and Screaming Eagle), and Spencer Keller (former winemaker for Eisele Vineyard). Together, the team produces Cabernet Sauvignon based wine form some of the top vineyards in Napa Valley, including their own Vice Versa Estate in Calistoga, Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Las Piedras, and Ecotone Vineyard, farmed by David Abreu.

The 2022 ‘Spinning Plates’ is based in estate Cabernet Sauvignon and incorporates 4% of surprise variety Lagrein, a grape traditionally found in Northern Italy, to offer freshness and lushness. After 20 months in 65% new French oak, the wine is bottled unfined. Its label art was commissioned by Montreal street artist ‘Tone’ and inspired by Patrice’s passion for modern art.
