This Chardonnay is a unique collaboration between acclaimed Healdsburg Chef Dustin Valette and third-generation winemaker Tom Rochioli. Rochioli is well known as one of the greatest estates in the Russian River Valley, and this stands as the only wine that Tom makes outside of his own iconic estate bottlings. Crafted entirely from Rochioli’s revered, north-facing River Block Vineyard, the fruit was whole-cluster pressed and co-fermented directly in barrel with 10–15% new French oak. The 2023 vintage is immediately expressive of this exceptional site, jumping from the glass with a high-toned bouquet of crisp yellow apple, lemon blossom, and white peach, beautifully underlaid by nuances of crushed river stones and a delicate touch of pastry crust. On the palate, the wine delivers a weightless, satiny texture that is instantly electrified by a fresh, mouth-watering beam of natural acidity. Layers of salted citrus peel and ripe green pear melt into a long, deeply persistent, mineral-driven finish that cleanses the palate. This is a sophisticated Russian River Valley Chardonnay that bears the magic touch of two of Sonoma's greatest winemaking and culinary minds.
