It's no secret that wine industry pros love Chenin Blanc, and while Savennières in the Loire Valley is renowned for it, Vouvray and Saumur are often more top of mind. Thibaud Boudignon, raised in Bordeaux, was so passionate about Chenin Blanc and the Loire Valley that in 2009 he began crafting wine from a small 3.5-hectare vineyard in Savennières. Farming organically and biodynamically on his own, Thibaud quickly gained recognition for producing some of the most exciting new wines in the region. His name soon spread through the Paris restaurant scene, earned international acclaim, and received praise from publications like Vinous and Wine Advocate. 'Clos de la Hutte,' a 100% Chenin Blanc grown on solid schist, is Thibaud’s crowning achievement. Biodynamically farmed and aged in large barrels with just 15% new oak, it offers exceptional complexity with a waxy honeysuckle nose, crisp Asian pear, and a textured, long finish. It’s already superb and has excellent aging potential. Awarded 97 points by Wine Advocate, this wine deserves all the praise it receives.
