Kanzler Vineyard is an absolute classic. Tucked in the rolling hills of Sebastopol, this Pinot site, also used as a source for Kosta Browne, Arista, and Rivers-Marie, is the little black dress of vineyards- perfect for any occasion. Planted in 1996, many thought this area was too cool and foggy to grow grapes, but this climate has proven to be a secret ingredient in making exceptional and elegant Pinot. Fruit is destemmed and aged in 35% new French oak for 10 months. The seductive result is laden with wild strawberry and rhubarb, time, mineral notes, and fine tannins.

Senses is the realization of a dream shared by three childhood friends from the small town of Occidental on the West Sonoma Coast. Christopher Strieter, Max Thieriot, and Myles Lawrence-Briggs grew up playing among their families’ vines- vineyards that now produce world-class wines. In 2011, Senses released its first vintage. Today, the project relies on the expertise of one of Sonoma’s top vineyard management teams, Valdez & Sons, for farming and Thomas Rivers Brown as winemaker. Their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs have consistently shown depth and complexity, earning praise from Robert Parker, Jeb Dunnuck, and MW Lisa Perrotti-Brown. We’ve worked with them since their debut vintage and are excited to bring them back into the collection.
