The Coastline 2022 is a blend of Pinot Noir from the famed Fort Ross-Seaview vineyard and Annapolis vineyard. Both vineyards, planted in the early 2000s, are organically farmed and located 4 miles from the Pacific Ocean at an elevation above 900 feet. The fruit was harvested at night on September 1st and 2nd. They utilized native fermentation with 25% whole cluster in stainless steel tanks. After 15 days on the skins, they gently pressed the wine and aged it in 20% new French oak barrels. The wine underwent 12 months of élevage in the cellar before bottling. Thistle red fruit dominates the palate with smooth under currents of fresh forest, salinity and minerality lingering on the finish. A mere 300 cases were produced.

Introducing Salty Goats, a brand forged by winery colleagues and basketball buddies, Joe Harden and Phil Holbrook. Both grew up in wine regions- Joe in Lodi Valley and Phil in Napa Valley with continual guidance from his grandmother, Margrit Mondavi. After working together at Nickel & Nickel in Oakville as winemaker and assistant winemaker, they realized their shared passion was in looking west to the coastal vineyards of Pinot Noir and started Salty Goats. ‘Salty’, from the maritime influence on the vineyards and ‘goats’, as they were inspired by the collaboration of goat farmers and vineyard managers to create a way to naturally free vineyards of weeds.
