2021 marks the 22nd vintage of Oakville Estate and was what the winery called ‘a gift from Mother Nature.’ The vintage is marked by incredibly concentration and structure. A 3-week harvest involving 12 separate picks was followed by aging in 45% new French oak and 55% once used. Winemaker Natalie Bath composed a final blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine is marked by notes of sweet violet, cinnamon, and fresh pencil shavings. A concentrated mid-palate leads to a persistent finish. This is a wine that is already showing well, but will have the ability to age for many years to come. Small yields will make 2021 a rare find.
