We’ve been tasting quite a bit of Sauvignon Blanc lately and this 2021 from Riverain we really enjoyed. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown aged it in 75% stainless steel and 25% new French oak for 10 months. Citrus notes play with layers of stone fruit, lychee, and gooseberry, all to create a refreshing, crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The finish is long and satisfying. This SB comes from a part of Tom Gamble’s vineyard in Yountville that we are very familiar with and is now named Riverbound Vineyard. 265 cases were produced.
Since their debut vintage in 2011, Thomas Rivers Brown has been Riverain’s winemaker, making Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Pinot Noir.
