This Syrah blend combines with 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petite Sirah and is rich and silky, with notes of ripe dark fruit and savory notes of “new leather and dark spices.” Like the other 2021 Reds, Juan and his winemaker, Anthony Yount cultivated this wine from the estate vineyards of their own- Shadow Canyon and Arbor and Heaton Vineyards in York Mountain and Willow Creek District. This is one of the best Syrah blends from the 2021 vintage in Paso Robles.

Winemaker Anthony Yount produces bottlings from three estate vineyards. The first purchase was the acclaimed Shadow Canyon Vineyard on York Mountain—RIISE’s highest and most coastal site. 1200 Arbor, located in Willow Creek AVA, will become our home base with plans for a winery, tasting room, and caves. The 85-acre Heaton Vineyard offers rolling hills and a rare mix of limestone, calcareous, and alluvial soils. RIISE also sources from other top-tier vineyards we consider grand cru in quality.
