As the Realm team let us know, this is the only 2020 vintage of their regular lineup they've produced since they lost their red fruit for their Cabernets due to the wildfires in 2020. They did produce some Rosé from their early picks before the wildfire. This newest offering marks Realm Cellars' sixth vintage of Fidelio. Comprised of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc from Farella Vineyard in the Coombsville AVA and Gamble Ranch in Oakville, winemaker Benoit Touquette sought to create a wine that brought out the best of both sites with Gamble being the warmer vineyard and Farella being cooler in temperature. Notes of tropical fruit and citrus are balanced with bright acidity and a lush texture thanks to the Realm team stirring the lees during production time and aging the wine in neutral French oak. Fidelio is well-balanced, "tipping neither toward the oaky or grassy end of the spectrum. Its rounded texture comes from lees stirring and neutral barrel ageing. Fidelio is our version of a fine white Bordeaux, beautifully structured, expansive on the palate, and wonderfully complex." 500 cases were produced.
