This is an incredible, great-buy Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Norma Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and proprietor of Bidwell Creek Vineyard's Perfect Season. Made by winemaker Philippe Melka and farmed by Jim Barbour, Bidwell Creek Vineyard is in the renowned Knights Valley AVA and is comprised of 15.5 acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In total, the estate property consists of 50 acres. Displaying classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and flavors of cassis, dark cherry, blueberry, baking spice and mocha, the 2016 Red & Gold Reserve is blended from the same wine lots that go into their flagship Perfect Season Cabernet Sauvignon. For this release, the 2016 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. As a tribute to her home team and her late husband Lamar, Norma labeled this special bottling after the Kansas City Chief's home. 185 cases were produced.
