Matt Dees, the winemaker for JONATA and The Hilt, crafts wines that are more expensive than The Paring. However, we love this wine brand because it receives the same meticulous attention and care as his other winemaking efforts. The Paring, sourced from Santa Barbara County and brought to us by Stan Kroenke, the owner of Screaming Eagle, JONATA, and The Hilt, offers a great Pinot Noir experience. With a captivating aroma of blackberries and rosemary, it fills the glass with succulent and sweet red fruit flavors that are complemented by savory notes and velvety tannins, resulting in a harmonious and well-rounded wine. The Paring provides immediate drinking pleasure while retaining the complexity and allure that defines this grape.

The Paring was born in 2006 out of a desire to explore, experiment and excite—without rules. Made from the vineyard blocks that are either too young or don't fit into the vintage style of the highly acclaimed JONATA and The Hilt wines—The Paring is a cut of each estate. The grapes are sourced primarily from three Santa Barbara regions on the vanguard: Santa Ynez Valley, Sta. Rita Hills, and Santa Maria Valley.
