Remarkably expressive in its youth, this debut Cabernet’s nose reveals layers of macerated black cherry and blackberry, accented by herbal hints of tobacco leaf and cardamom. On the palate, it offers a luxurious texture with ample weight, balanced by fine, well-integrated tannins. Aged for 21 months in 71% new French oak, the Cabernet reflects winemaker Matt Sands' skillful restraint in managing the ripe fruit of St. Helena. Only 196 cases were produced.

MOWE's origins are deeply connected to the wine industry, but in a unique way. For more than 20 years, Dustin Mowe has been the president of one of the best top-tier wine cork companies, providing corks to some of the best wineries in California wine country. His passion for wine, shared with his wife Renee, led them to raise their two children in Napa Valley, with the dream of one day owning a vineyard. In 2020, that dream came true when they purchased a home and a small 1-acre vineyard on Silverado Trail, north of St. Helena. The vineyard's vines were of exceptional quality, and upon learning that David Abreu had planted them in 1990 with the renowned Spottwoode clone, Dustin and Renee knew they had to craft their own wine.

With their long-standing love for Sauvignon Blanc, the couple decided to produce a white wine alongside their Estate Cabernet. To find the right vineyard source, they sought the help of their friend Maayan Koschitzky, Director of Winemaking at Atelier Melka. Maayan introduced them to an exceptional dry-farmed, cool-climate site in the Coombsville AVA. Today, Maayan oversees the production of their Sauvignon Blanc, while Matt Sands of Lithology crafts their Cabernet Sauvignon just down the road from the Mowes' vineyard and home.
