1 bottle of each of the following is included in this Special Priced 3-Pack:
Morlet Famiy Vineyards ‘Ma Princesse’ Chardonnay 2021
Named for Luc and Jodie’s daughter Claire, ‘Ma Princesse’ is a beautiful sun-kissed expression of Chardonnay, skillfully balancing minerality with richness. The vines are rooted in rocky Goldridge soil on the river bench of Russian River Valley with Southern exposure. Tiny Old Wente clone berries give the wine a satisfying concentration. After harvest, fermentation took place in French barrel with the employment of only native yeast. Regular batonnage was conducted for texture in the final wine, which exhibits an expressive nose of golden delicious apple, chamomile, and lemon drop. The palate dances delicately the line of richness and mineral verve.
Morlet Family Vineyards ‘En Famille’ Pinot Noir 2020
For Napa winemakers used to Bordeaux varieties, Pinot Noir can feel like unfamiliar territory—but not for Luc. His family has made Pinot for generations, and when he and Jodie founded the winery, leaving it out wasn’t an option. Even their kids got involved early, stomping a small vat each harvest. In order to produce a fresh, mineral style, Luc and Jodie, looked to Fort Ross-Seaview on the Sonoma Coast, specifically the second ridge in from the gusty Pacific. The vineyard, at 1100-1300 feet is rich with prized Goldridge sedimentary soils, offering just enough structure to complement the elegance of the wine. After a night harvest and partial de-stemming, the Pinot was fermented with native yeast in large French oak puncheons and allowed to rest for 14 months in French oak prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The resulting wine offers wild red raspberry, forest floor, and graphite.
Morlet Family Vineyards ‘Mon Chevalier’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
We’re thrilled to offer this library release from the Morlet family vineyard situated 500- 600 feet elevation on the foothills of Knights Valley just North of Calistoga. The unique warm and windy climate of the area allows for a long ripening period for maximum complexity. After hand sorting, the fruit was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and large French puncheons, after which it spent 16 months in French oak, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. There is a lovely combination of blue and black fruit and seductive floral aromas including tobacco leaf and lavender. On the palate, the wine is full and intense with remarkably fine-grained tannins. ‘Mon Chevalier’ may be the finest wine I have ever tasted from Knights Valley. . . brilliant winemaking and meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard and winery have resulted in a prodigious effort.’ – Robert M.
