During a recent trip to the East Coast, the wines of Michel Bouzereau emerged as the standout discovery. These White Burgundies exceeded expectations, offering impressive texture and depth. A seventh-generation estate, Bouzereau was an early adopter of sustainable practices, becoming organic in 2005 and hand-harvesting all fruit. The white wines are vinified with native yeast and minimal sulfur. ‘Les Charrons’ comes from a 1.5-hectare east-facing slope and is aged for one year in 20% new French oak. The natural richness of the terroir comes through beautifully, with a full-bodied profile layered with notes of green apple and salted almond.
