A known favorite among cult Cab drinkers, this 2022 is worthy of all our cellars. Sourced from a single block of Weitz Vineyard, which Chris Maybach and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown have tended since the 2004 debut vintage, it sits 1,000 feet above the Silverado Trail in Oakville. The vines struggle in shallow, rocky soil, yielding a deeply concentrated, elegantly textured Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 boasts an expressive nose of spicy red and black fruit, complemented by hints of oak, graphite, and spring flowers. Well-balanced with ripe tannins, impressive density, and exceptional length, it truly stands out. 498 cases were produced.
