This Sauvignon Blanc hits all the right notes—neither grassy nor overly acidic, just perfectly balanced. The 2023 vintage marks a milestone for Massican, blending fruit from Napa Valley with, for the first time, Sonoma’s Carneros region. Winemaker Dan Petroski embraced the grower vineyards cool nights and warm days, crafting a crisp, multi-layered wine. To maintain its vibrancy, 75% of the wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel barrels. Flavors of wet stone, pineapple, grapefruit, and lime zest linger from the first sip to the finish.
Inspired by the Sauvignon Blancs of northern Italy, this wine pays tribute to Friuli’s versatile white wines. As Dan notes, “While it’s hard to replicate these Italian classics, Sauvignon is our California interpretation of their greatness.”
