Lieu Dit is a partnership between longtime friends Eric Railsback and Justin Willett. The two met in Santa Barbara while Eric was finishing college and Justin was just beginning his career in winemaking. They were part of a small group of young winemakers and restaurateurs in Santa Barbara who shared a common interest in wine. After sharing countless bottles and making numerous trips to France, Railsback and Willett decided to establish Lieu Dit in 2011, focusing exclusively on the indigenous varieties of the Loire Valley that are now grown in Santa Barbara County. The diverse micro-climates and marine-based soils of Santa Barbara County are perfectly suited for these grape varieties. This 2023 Rosé is comprised solely of Cabernet Franc and showcases a shimmering pale copper color with notes of wild strawberry complemented by subtle herbal undertones. It is crisp, dry and won’t tire the palate.
