The 2015 LAZ Cabernet Sauvignon includes 11% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc, grown in Rutherford, Spring Mountain, Oakville, and Pritchard Hill areas of Napa Valley. The fruit was carefully hand-harvested, fermented as small lots, barrel aged in French oak (a variety of coopers, 60% new) and judiciously blended shortly before bottling on May 9, 2017.
“Bright, lifted aromas of fresh blueberry, black cherries and dark red fruit dominate the aromas, while secondary notes of cinnamon, baking spice and granite provide depth and complexity. On the palate, the entry is broad and full, with a consistent sense of density throughout the mouthfeel. The long finish offers a texture of lush, silky tannins that will provide the ability to age this wine for the next 12-15 years.“– Celia Welch, winemaker
