The dynamic husband-and-wife duo behind Kinsman Eades, known for their numerous 100-point wines and widespread critical acclaim, have a well-kept secret: beyond their passion for Bordeaux varieties, they share a deep love for Chenin Blanc. Having enjoyed Chenin Blanc from South Africa and France’s Loire Valley for years, Shae and Nigel Kinsman were inspired to embark on their own journey when they discovered the former Reverie Vineyard, rich with decomposed volcanic ash. On the southwest-facing slopes of Diamond Mountain, Nigel planted Chenin Blanc, and together, he and Shae now meticulously farm.

After harvest, the grapes are whole-cluster pressed and fermented in large, seasoned oak barrels. The result is a wine with a textured, lingering mid-palate— thanks to lees stirring— while retaining the vibrant, zesty finish that defines great Chenin.

The Aberro label, meaning “to wander”, features dancers performing a Renaissance moresca by 16th-century artist Jacques Callot. This spirit of adventure shines through in the glass with notes of white peach, lime zest, and wet rock.
