The 2020 base year blends 55% fruit from Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, and Champillon with 45% from the grand cru vineyards of Avize and Oiry. A mild winter, bright and dry spring, and a late-season drought produced beautifully ripe, concentrated grapes—harvested early between August 26 and September 10. Thoughtful farming and careful soil stewardship let each plot’s character shine. Fermented and aged in large wooden vats on the lees, without filtration or fining, the wine gains depth and seamless texture. Reserve wines from the 747, 743, and 741 cuvées add further complexity, while Chardonnay ultimately leads the blend with its energy and precision.
