Just released as a library offering, we are thrilled to present Heimark's second vintage. This is precisely the type of new winery we love collaborating with when it comes to exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Although the winery itself is new, the Heimarks have been cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate vineyard for over 20 years and supplying grapes to a select few wineries that have produced some of the finest wines from Napa Valley. Wines primarily crafted from their grapes have received numerous 100-point ratings. The development of this vineyard began in 1997, with vineyard manager Michael Wolf (of VHR, Scarecrow), viticulturist Mary Hall Maher (Etude and Harlan Estate), and winemaker Tony Soter (Soter Vineyards) skillfully overseeing the process. Fourteen acres were dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, while one acre was allocated for Petit Verdot. Since their inaugural vintage, winemaking has been overseen by Francoise Peschon, with Michael in charge of viticulture. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a focused structure that results in an expressive, inviting wine with remarkable depth and liveliness. The wine is both dense and powerful, with a vibrant and decidedly elegant character. “Persistent and lingering flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and a rich minerality give way to a beautiful interplay of opulence and energy.” 450 cases were produced.
