Handley Cellars has been in Anderson Valley since the early 1980's, quietly making well-made wines that reflect the AVA that has come to be known for producing high-quality aromatic Whites and Pinot Noir. Located on at the northwest end of the valley, they have a 59-acre ranch with 28-acres planted to vines. This 2020 Pinot Gris comes from Helluva and Romani Vineyards located at opposite ends of Anderson Valley. It is not unusual for these vineyards to be harvested a month apart. Helluva Vineyard provides the tropical and herbal notes while Romani Vineyard provides riper stone fruit characters. Fermented in stainless steel and neutral wood, this White is refreshing, with a crisp finish. 219 cases were produced.
