A stunning Pinot Noir from the excellent 2018 vintage, ‘Les Pruliers’ offers bright notes of raspberry and tea leaf supported by a robust structure. The Gouges family has been making wine in the region for nearly 150 years and today farms just over 14 hectares (34.6 acres), including seven Premiers Crus. On the rocky southern slopes of the appellation, the 1er Cru vineyard ‘Les Pruliers’ is planted to vines averaging 50 years of age. The outstanding 2018 vintage is already drinking beautifully, yet it has the depth and balance to age gracefully for years to come.
About Domaine Henri Gouges
Founded in the 1920s, Domaine Henri Gouges is one of the most respected and historic estates in Nuits-Saint-Georges and a benchmark for the appellation. Henri Gouges, who pioneered estate bottling in Burgundy at a time when most growers sold their fruit, built a legacy of wines known for their authenticity and long-lived structure. Today, the domaine is run by the third and fourth generations of the family, who farm roughly 14 hectares of vines, including some of the most highly regarded Premier Cru sites such as Les Saint-Georges, Les Vaucrains, and Les Pruliers. The wines are celebrated for their depth, power, and purity of Pinot Noir expression, faithfully reflecting the varied terroirs of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
