The newly released 2020 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is Matt Courtney's eighth vintage of Ferren and sixth vintage of Sonoma Coast Chardonnay It is a blend of barrels from his single vineyard offerings; Lancel Creek, Silver Eagle, Volpert, and Frei Road Vineyards. The pale, off-white Goldridge soil provides just enough nutrients and moisture for these densely planted vines to ripen. “Pure and translucent fruit is the hallmark of this cuvée. Citrus, quince, sea spray, and minerals are buoyed by refreshing acidity and a seamless finish.” Matt is a perfectionist when it comes to making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After eight years as winemaker at Marcassin, Matt now concentrates his efforts on Ferren and Arista, another great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay winery on Westside Road in Russian River Valley. 272 cases were produced.
