FEL is the winery in Anderson Valley which Cliff Lede founded after purchasing the famed Savoy Vineyard and years before, Breggo Cellars. FEL are the initials of Cliff’s mother, Florence Elsie Lede. I just tasted this last week alongside the FEL Savoy Pinot Noir and really enjoyed this current vintage. I know of Ferrington Vineyard thanks to Williams Selyem and think it is one of the best vineyards in Anderson Valley today. “The 2016 Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir is rich with dark fruit aromas of black cherry, pomegranate, and Santa Rosa plum. The mouth is loaded with juicy flavors of cranberry, Bing cherry, and raspberry with hints of orange peel, mint and tea leaf. A light-bodied expression of cool-climate, Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, the finish is fresh and long.”
