Benoit Touquette—one of Napa Valley’s most sought-after winemakers, whose rise to prominence was cemented through his work at Realm Cellars—founded Fait-Main to craft wines that reflect both precision and pedigree. Overseeing every detail, he partners with some of Napa’s most iconic vineyard sites, including Beckstoffer Las Piedras. Situated on the rocky western benchlands of St. Helena, Las Piedras is defined by its iron-rich, stone-laden soils—reminiscent of Bordeaux—and delivers both power and refinement. The 2023 vintage, one of Napa’s most compelling in recent memory, brings exceptional purity, freshness, and structure following a long, even growing season. The result is a beautifully composed wine: ripe yet restrained, with lifted floral aromatics giving way to layers of blueberry and blackberry, polished tannins, and a persistent, mineral-driven finish.
Located at the base of Spring Mountain, Beckstoffer Las Piedras is an unmistakable site, with its distinct stony soil. The likeness of this terroir to that of Bordeaux was precisely what inspired Benoit to create the Fait-Main project. While there is a hedonistically delicious ripe fruit core to this wine, the elegance of the site shines through on the nose with soft floral notes leading to a blueberry-blackberry explosion on the palate.
The beloved Fait-Main was started by French native Benoit Touquette after he was rocketed to winemaker stardom from his involvement with the eponymous Realm Cellars. Benoit controls all aspects of Fait-Main, including partnering with some of the most lauded vineyard sites in Napa Valley to produce wines from only the most pristine fruit sources.
