Tierra Roja Vineyard is a renowned grower vineyard located in the eastern bench of Oakville. Situated along Oakville Cross Road to Silverado Trail, this premier 4-acre vineyard captivates with its abundance of big rocks and distinct red soil, from which it derives its name. Adjacent to esteemed vineyards such as Dalla Valle, Rudd, and Screaming Eagle, Tierra Roja Vineyard boasts a historic site on the east side of Oakville. The red volcanic soils, rich in iron and rock, contribute to the production of intensely flavored dark fruit with velvety tannins. In 2021, the partnership between Fait-Main's vintner/winemaker Benoit Touquette and Linda Neal's Tierra Roja Vineyard resulted in the debut vintage. This impressive collaboration showcases a bold array of blue fruit, blackcurrant, plum, and dark cherry notes on the palate, accompanied by hints of licorice and chocolate. The wine's fresh acidity and seamlessly integrated tannins harmoniously balance the immense volume and density of the fruit, culminating in a luxurious finish that lingers with deep notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. 375 cases were produced.
