Included in this 3-Bottle Set with Special Pricing is one bottle each of the following:
Baker & Hamilton Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
Baker & Hamilton is a compelling new offering from the Phillips family, owners of the legendary Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard. Exclusively sourced from Vine Hill Ranch, Baker & Hamilton is a nostalgic tribute to the family’s deep roots in California agriculture, named after the historic 19th-century hardware and tool company owned by the family’s ancestors. The wine is made by the same all-star team that makes VHR: winemaker Françoise Peschon and vineyard manager Mike Wolf. The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterclass in Oakville elegance, characterized by its vibrant energy and old school Napa soul. It opens with an enchanting bouquet of red currants, dried herbs, and a hint of dusty earth that leads into a palate defined by its lithe structure and silky tannins. Unlike the more brooding, structured nature of the VHR estate bottling, Baker & Hamilton is intentionally approachable and fresh, showing a brilliant balance of fruit purity and savory complexity. With only about 500 cases produced, this 2023 release is a rare opportunity to experience the precision of Vine Hill Ranch at a price that over-delivers for its elite Oakville pedigree.
LAZ Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
The 2022 LAZ Cabernet Sauvignon marks an important new chapter for the label, debuting the estate’s dedicated grower partnership with Sylvan Lake Vineyard on Howell Mountain. After the loss of the 2020 vintage to wildfire, this release carries particular significance, showcasing fruit sourced exclusively from the high-elevation, 4.5-acre vineyard planted in 2014. Yields were modest—about 2.25 tons per acre—allowing for exceptional concentration and clarity of flavor. Under the guidance of vintner Kerri Laz and winemaker Celia Welch, all fruit was hand-picked with exacting attention to ripeness and acidity, ensuring only the most balanced clusters were selected. A small addition of Malbec and Merlot adds nuance, depth, and aromatic lift, resulting in a Cabernet that is both expressive and finely structured. With just 75 cases and eighteen magnums produced, this limited release captures the purity and tension of Howell Mountain while reflecting the thoughtful collaboration at the heart of LAZ.
Gamble Estates Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
Gamble Estates is rooted in a rich agricultural history that spans three generations in Napa Valley, led by proprietor Tom Gamble, who grew up on the very Oakville estate where some of this fruit is sourced. This 2023 is a masterfully blended Cabernet Sauvignon that draws from three iconic sub-appellations: Oakville, Rutherford, and Mount Veeder. The inclusion of fruit from the westernmost edge of Mount Veeder provides a structural finesse and deep concentration that elevates the complexity of the wine beyond a typical valley-floor blend. Shaped by a mild growing season and temperate summer, the wine opens with an elegant bouquet of violets, cedar, and dark berries. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and generous, layering rich dark fruit with hints of cocoa nibs and vibrant natural acidity. The tannins are soft and polished, having been refined during 16 months of aging in select French oak barrels. Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and rounded out with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, the wine strikes an impeccable balance between restraint and power.
