While globally renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon, Eisele Vineyard’s historic Calistoga estate also produces one of Napa Valley’s most compelling, Northern Rhône-style Syrahs. Grown on the gravelly, biodynamically farmed alluvial soils at the base of the Palisades, the vines benefited from the extended, cool 2023 growing season, allowing for slow, complete phenolic ripening without sacrificing freshness. The wine opens with nuanced aromas of dark blackberry, blueberry, cracked black pepper, and fresh violets, accented by savory elements of smoked meat, black olive, and dried garrigue. On the palate, it is full-bodied and broad yet well-proportioned, delivering a core of dark plum and wild berry fruit framed by fine, supple tannins and an underlying streak of iron-rich minerality.
