You won’t find Oakville Cabernet of this quality at this price. Situated on the valley floor in the Oakville AVA, winemaker Paul Hobbs and the Ehrlich family are no strangers to the wine world. Paul gained recognition with his wines from the prestigious Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, which was a rare source in the 1990s. Meanwhile, Patricia and Cliff Ehrlich first visited Napa in 1967, when only ten wineries appeared on the visitor's map, with just eight of them having tasting rooms. By the late 1990s, they bought a ten-and-a-half-acre property in Oakville, where their vineyard has since produced esteemed Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for top wineries. Collectively today, Paul is working with the Ehrlichs to make outstanding Cabernet that showcases the best of Oakville. 2022 marks the second vintage and it’s bursting with ripe red currant, blackberry, and plum, complemented by tobacco, cedar, and a hint of graphite. Smooth, polished, and perfectly balanced, its seamless fruit and subtle oak lead to a long, plush finish. 120 cases were produced.
About Ehrlich...
Ehrlich is divided into three distinct blocks. The grapes for this wine were carefully selected from Block C, located at the north end of the property, and planted in 2017. This block benefits from ample sunlight exposure throughout the day, gravely fine Pleasanton loam soil, and its proximity to the Napa River water table.
