Founded in 1927 by Maurice Doyard, son Yannick Doyard took over at the age of 20 years old. Today, Yannick’s son Guillaume is at the helm, farming 25 acres of prime vineyards in Vertus and the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant, Oger, Avize and Aÿ.  All of these family plots are in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, considered the most exceptional for Chardonnay production. The house keeps yields very low to concentrate the wines, which are vinified in barrel (not the most common technique in the region). From 100% Chardonnay from a combination of 1er and Grand Cru vineyard sites, this wine spends a remarkable 42 months aging in bottle, giving it a remarkable texture and brioche note. Its prominent minerality coupled with this sensation produces a remarkable and deeply pleasing tension.
