Often coined as ‘baby Maya’, this 50% Cabernet, 40% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot Oakville Red is outstanding. The 2021 vintage demonstrated resilience once again, producing wines of remarkable power and intensity. With low winter rainfall and early spring temperatures, bud break occurred early, followed by cooler temperatures in April and May with intermittent rain. A dry, seasonable summer led to early ripening at our site, resulting in a compact and intense harvest during the first two weeks of September. The 2021 wines are distinguished by their concentration, weight, and brightness. This is an outstanding release from Dalla Valle, filled with deep, fragrant flavors of blackberry and currant. It offers refreshing layers of that same fruit layered with secondary notes of cedar and graphite.
