We love that Dalla Valle recently received back-to-back 100 Points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate for their 2018 and 2019 vintages of Maya! As the Dalla Valle team explains the vintage best, they said, “While the 2018 vintage may have been a tough act to follow, the 2019s standout as another classic, idyllic Napa Valley vintage to remember. A milestone into our history at Dalla Valle was made in 2019 as we dove into the world of Biodynamic farming.” Dalla Valle began producing Maya thirty-two vintages ago from their Oakville estate vineyard which overlooks the Napa Valley floor from a hillside terrace 500 feet above the Silverado Trail. Since Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle purchased the property in 1982 and began planting vines, this exceptional acreage has continually distinguished itself as the ideal site for producing. “With swirling, the 2019 begins to reveal beguiling notes of fragrant earth, lavender, garrigue and Sichuan pepper, giving way to a core of wild blueberries, boysenberries, black raspberries, and black currants plus a hint of iron ore. The palate is full-bodied, revealing itself in slow-releasing layers of black and blue fruits with exhilarating earth and mineral sparks, framed by firm, beautifully ripe tannins, and bold freshness, finishing on a persistent ferrous note. As cerebral as it is downright hedonic, this Maya is simply jaw-dropping.” 100 Points, Robert Parker Wine Advocate. Orders placed can ship after October 3rd.
