The newly released 2022 Red comes from Rudd’s Mt. Veeder estate vineyard, set between 800 and 1,600 feet. Since the first vintage in 2016, the team has taken a patient, deliberate approach to this site—one that has now culminated in their most impressive Estate Red yet. Crafted by their in-house team led by Natalie Bath, the blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon delivers plush forest berries, warm cedar spice, and evolving aromatics. The palate is full and structured, with blackberries, red currant, plum, and notes of roasted coffee and pencil shavings carried by firm mountain tannins. A brief decant or one to two hours of air will bring out even greater depth.

Crossroads is estate grown, coming from the same vineyards, and crafted by the same winemaking team as Rudd Estate, making it a reflection of the place and the people of Rudd Estate. Despite the pedigree of an Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc, Crossroads is priced accessibly and is meant to be enjoyed upon release.
