Clos de Tart is a legend producing Pinot Noir that defies the fragmented history of Burgundy. Founded in 1141 by the Cistercian nuns of the Abbaye de Tart, this 18-acre vineyard has remained an unbroken Monopole for nearly nine centuries—an almost impossible feat in the Côte d’Or. Today, it represents the Burgundian crown jewel of Francois Pinault’s Artemis Domaines, which also owns Château Latour and Napa’s own Eisele Vineyard. Under Pinault’s ownership, the estate has reached a world-class level of technical precision. The 2022 Clos de Tart is a breathtaking expression of Morey-Saint-Denis power wrapped in a cloak of elegance. It is a "tailored suit" of a wine—structured, architectural, and deeply complex. It leads with a signature bouquet of crushed ripe raspberries, wild violets and exotic spices, followed by a palate of incredible density and tannins like liquid silk. This is a wine built for the ages, possessing the same regal authority one finds in a bottle of Chateau Latour or Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
