Continually over-delivering each vintage, the 2022 'Chimera' from Sean Capiaux is no exception. Chimera is the name taken from Greek mythology- a monster comprised of three different animals, which is depicted on the label. The original vintage was comprised of three grower vineyards. This newest vintage has four grower vineyards in its blend. Medium-bodied with dark red and purple fruit notes, it is balanced with a touch of earthiness and cobbler spice. Sean Capiaux, while most known in Napa Valley as the winemaker of O'Shaughnessy, has also been making terroir-driven, honest and delicious Pinot Noirs from Russian River Valley and Santa Lucia Highlands since the mid-1990's.
