2019 marks the second vintage of Bella Oaks, a longtime, preeminent grower vineyard in the heart of west Rutherford. Made by Nigel Kinsman, of Kinsman Eades and Accendo, this property was a grower vineyard for decades before Suzanne Deal Booth acquired it and replanted the entire vineyard, thanks to David Abreu and his viticulture team. Recently tasted, this 2019 is outstanding and a great reflection of west Rutherford terroir. Comprised mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with 7% Cabernet Franc rounding it out, the Proprietary Red “is a more than worthy follow up to the fabulous 2018. Proprietor Suzanne Deal Booth and winemaker Nigel Kinsman crafted a wine that captures all the pedigree of this historic Rutherford site in spades. In 2019 Kinsman opted to co-ferment a dollop of Cabernet Franc, a choice that paid off brilliantly. In a word: unforgettable." 470 cases were produced. 100 Points, Vinous.
