A rich and powerful wine from the storied vineyard in St. Helena tucked at the base of Spring Mountain, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has a powerful dark fruit core with veins of granite minerality and hints of herbal character. Named for the large stones of the vineyard landscape, the soil drains remarkably well, giving the wines from Las Piedras a distinct mineral character. 117 cases were produced.
Annulus Cellars is the brainchild of Luke Evnin and Deann Wright, both research scientists by trade and part of the Napa Valley community for more than 20 years, along with their two daugters. When they decided to launch the project, they approached the talented Nigel Kinsman of Kinsman-Eades, Accendo, and Bella Oaks, as well as Michel Rolland to masterfully helm the blending process. With a long history in the valley, Deann and Luke knew the land well enough to set their sights on top vineyards, including Vine Hill Ranch and Beckstoffer Las Piedras. “Annulus,” Latin for “ring,” is a reference to the cycle of the seasons and the rings of community we create around food, wine, and agriculture.
