Last weekend, I included this wine in a lineup at a private tasting in Coral Gables, FL for 30+ guests and it was the best Cabernet showing. With a quick decant, it barely was showing its potential but by the end of the night, it was outstanding. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 captures the essence of what Howell Mountain is all about. “At first, your palate is embraced by an opulent mouthfeel that reveals silky firm tannins. Unfolding with time, it offers notes of mixed berries and earth that harmoniously intertwine. Its lingering finish yields a complex, sweet tobacco, salty, and mineral character.”

Adamvs on Howell Mountain has made significant progress since my last visit. The vineyard now spans twenty-eight acres, with the majority dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon. Under the guidance of vineyard manager Mike Wolf, consulting winemaker Philippe Melka, and winemaker Alberto Bianchi, they produce four estate wines. Three acres are dedicated to producing Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. I recently revisited and was impressed by the exceptional quality of their wines. The vines have become more acclimated to their surroundings and have matured, resulting in remarkable wines. Two of the wines, each with their own unique character, stood out and are definitely worth a taste.
