The historic Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford was partially planted in 1895 by Mrs. Thomas Rutherford. It was purchased and fully developed by Georges de Latour in 1928 for Beaulieu Vineyards whose legendary winemaker, Andre Tchelistcheff, crafted brilliant wines from this vineyard and established its glowing reputation. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards in 1988, the vineyard has since been replanted using new Cabernet Sauvignon clones with tighter spacing and advanced trellising systems. 2018 marks the first vintage of Vice Versa working with this historic site. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a “vivacious, rich, and multifaceted personality that offers lavish aromatics of mocha, ripe red and black berries, and savory notes of mountain herbs, sage, gravelly loam, and French oak spices. While it is incredibly regal now, the layers, powerful mid-palate, acidity, and abundant silky ripe tannins foretell a generous life.” Vice Versa’s winemaking team consists of Philippe Melka and Mayan Koschitzky. After moving to Napa, Maayan found himself working with some of the most exceptional vineyards and wineries such as Dalla Valle and Screaming Eagle where he helped to craft extraordinary wines.  In early 2014, he joined Atelier Melka as the Director of Winemaking and began working with Vice Versa shortly thereafter. 250 cases were produced.
