Called “one of the great Grand Cru Chardonnay sites in California” by Robert Parker, the Charles Heintz Vineyard sits upon a ridgetop along the rocky Sonoma County coastline at 900 feet in elevation. Heintz is a warmer vineyard in a very cool winegrowing region. This unique combination creates a gracefully balanced wine that combines the richness and intensity of old vine fruit with the structure and acidity of great Sonoma Coast winegrowing. The 2018 vintage offers bright acidity with classic white floral and honeysuckle on the nose with tropical fruit notes and subtle citrus zest that is a trademark characteristic of Charles Heintz Vineyard.

Senses Wines originates in the small town of Occidental, in West Sonoma Coast, in which they produce exclusively Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. And who better to make these wines than Thomas Rivers Brown. Thomas loves these Burgundian varietals coming from this special nook close to the Pacific coastline. The three partners, Chris Strieter, Max Thieriot and Myles Lawrence-Briggs, all grew up in Occidental and Thomas was already producing outstanding wines from renowned vineyards owned by their families so in their minds, it was the perfect way to bring Senses to the next level.
