We tasted this newer winery’s offerings last fall and are now excited to include them in our collection. Stu Lerner has been a longtime wine veteran in Napa Valley and for Lerner, he only wanted to work with Russell Bevan as his winemaker. Russell loves this heritage vineyard site and thankfully, was excited to be a part of the team. 2016 marked their first vintage coming from their estate vineyard, which used to be Jane Armstrong’s ‘Armstrong Ranch’ on Diamond Mountain. Resting at 1500 feet in elevation, this property is a testament to classic Napa Valley. It’s steeply terraced and relishes in the sun-drenched afternoons of the Diamond Mountain hillside. This 2018 includes small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot and is a “supple, sexy Red offering great cassis and almost blue fruits, notes of white flowers, spice, and a touch of minerality, full-bodied richness, and sweet tannins. It’s beautifully balanced, has building richness, and a wonderful sense of opulence paired with elegance.” 720 cases were produced. 98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck.
