The 2017 DB4 is as delicious as their previous vintage. The Bryant team deliberates and assembles after they determine final blends for Bryant Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Bettina Proprietary Red. It comprises a unique combination of specific lots from Bryant Family Vineyard and Abreu Las Posadas, Thorevilos, and Madrona. Notes of bright, juicy red and black fruits and menthol are backed by a silky tannin profile to define this finessed bottling, which is in a sense a version of a Bryant and Bettina fusion, but with more approachability at a younger age. The blend for this new vintage is comprised 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. As Bryant Estate overlooks Lake Hennessey on Pritchard Hill, their vines face northwest and have about 60% morning sun and 40% afternoon sun with a cooling effect from the western winds. Since their first vintage in 1992, they have been working with David Abreu as their vineyard manager with Michel Rolland as their consulting oenologist. KK Carothers is leading their winemaking team and was an intern with Bryant a few years prior. 680 cases were produced. 4 cases are available.
