Since 2012, Sine Qua Non’s right-hand guy and assistant winemaker has been Jim Binns and now, under his own wine brand Andremily, Jim is offering some of the most exciting Syrahs to date. This 2017 EABA (pronounce ee-buh and an acronym for 'end all be all') Syrah is the debut vintage of this label. Jim co-fermented the Syrah with 28% Mourvedre, 11% Grenache and 3% Viognier, with 60% whole cluster press. After 22 months in French oak (50% new), Jim bottled in August 2019. It is "inky colored and has a gorgeous bouquet of blackcurrants, cassis, scorched earth, violets, and ground pepper. Rich, powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated, it's more elegant and straight than the 2016, with a seamless texture, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It's another thrilling wine that's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and be a classic.” 98 Points, Jeb Dunnuck. 710 cases were produced. 12 bottles are available.
