Since their inception, we have been working with VHR to market their wine to our best customers. This 2014 is no exception to their high quality, hard-working efforts to produce a west bench Oakville Cabernet that speaks of their little micro valley within the Napa Valley. The Phillips family are true generational farmers and know their vineyard row by row, vine by vine. With the help of winemaker Francoise Peschon and vineyard manager Mike Wolf, this 2015 offers “perfumed notes of violets, Indian cinnamon, dark cocoa and mocha infused with ripe blackberry, cherry and blueberry. The lush dark fruit is lifted with a vein of minerality and bright acidities, showcasing the elegance, balance and maturity of wine grapes grown on this unique benchland site in southwestern Oakville. The wine finishes with an opulent suppleness that coats the palate and imparts a complexity and lasting length of purity.”
