For this delicious Petite Sirah, TOR’s winemaking team led by Jeff Ames, source from one of the oldest Petite Sirah vineyards in Napa Valley which dates to pre-prohibition. There are rumors of moonshining during prohibition in the record books, and the surviving old vines of Petite Sirah are infamous. Palisades Vineyard (formerly Carver Sutro) lies in its very own valley, isolated from the rest of Napa Valley. The new owners are fanatical in all the right ways about the farming of this historic site, making this a premier Petite Sirah grower vineyard. The 2016 Petite Sirah Old Vines Palisades Vineyard is inky purple and black in color with a nose of cassis, redcurrants and asphalt with nuances of pepper and earth. The medium to full-bodied palate is very firm with a long finish.
