Senses 'Russian River Valley' Chardonnay 2018
2018 marks the first vintage of their Russian River Valley Chardonnay and it’s delicious. In the past, they only produced a Sonoma Coast appellation Chardonnay. While maintaining a similar texture and balance of the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, this newly released 2018 has more power and richness. Fragrant notes of white floral notes fill the glass with hints of pear and peach that lead on the palate with lemon zest and mineral notes. The wine’s richness is moderated by its texture and smooth finish. This RRV Chardonnay comes from their estate vineyard, B.A. Thieriot along with grower vineyards including Silver Eagle Vineyard, El Diablo Vineyard and Dutton Palms Vineyard. Together, it is a complete Chardonnay from the immediate aromas to the finish.

Senses 'Russian River Valley' Pinot Noir 2018
Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has produced a great 2018 Senses Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Enjoyable upon opening, it offers red cherry with briary fruit and notes of baking spice – really, it’s everything you hope for in a classic Russian River Valley Pinot along with balanced acidity and silky-smooth tannins. This 2018 was aged for 10 months in 100% French Oak, 10% new French and the rest neutral oak. Many are hailing the 2018 vintage as a return to “normal” as the vintage was comparatively calm, cool, and late. The year began with a relatively warm February before giving way to a cold spring and moderate growing conditions throughout the season. The moderate temperatures continued into harvest allowing for full phenolic ripeness to develop and the luxury of picking the grapes when they were mature rather than trying to beat the heat. Many in the wine industry think the 2018 wines will showcase as one of the best vintages in the twenty-teens.
