Known as “The Land of Promise”, Terra de Promissio has an ideal terroir for Pinot Noir.
The soil, southwest sun exposure, hill elevation, vine density and the wind and fog of the
Petaluma Gap allow the grapes to have a slow maturation & extended hang time. This 2018 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir offers “a Gevrey-like nose of mulled red and black plums, Asian spices, scorched earth, and earthy forest floor that gives way to a rich, medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that has terrific balance, plenty of acidity and tannins, and a great finish. It has lots of upfront fruit yet has a firm underbelly and excellent structure. It’s going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age, and my money is on it evolving for 10-15 years.” -Jeb Dunnuck. Senses Wines originates in the small town of Occidental, in West Sonoma Coast, in which they produce exclusively Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. And who better to make these wines than Thomas Rivers Brown. Thomas loves these Burgundian varietals coming from this special nook close to the Pacific coastline. The three partners, Chris Strieter, Max Thieriot and Myles Lawrence-Briggs, all grew up in Occidental and Thomas was already producing outstanding wines from renowned vineyards owned by their families so in their minds, it was the perfect way to bring Senses to the next level. 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck.
